“As They Remembered”
In 1939, when Elmer (with his son-in-law Fred Sproul and daughter Sevilla and their daughter Beverly, age 13) looped over to Southern California to see Elliott and Sophie Shaw in Los Angeles, they took them out to the horse ranch to see Sea Biscuit. Then they drove their four-door robin blue 1939 Lincoln Zephyr to Santa Monica to see his sister Calla who was a widow, and her children Jane and Bob. She lived with her gorgeous grey Persian cat that stayed up on the mantle.

Cherished husband of Sara Shearer Joslin, beloved father of …, passed away December 10, 2005 at the age of 61 from cancer. David was the quintessential Renaissance man, complementing his career as an aerospace engineer with a passion for theater, dance, music and art. A memorial celebration will be held at 4:00 p.m. Fri., Dec. 30, at the 1st Christian Church, Social Hall 4390 Colfax Ave., Studio City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
