Rex Kinne Dies
Mr. Rex Kinne, former Williamston resident, passed away at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital at Ann Arbor Tuesday afternoon. He was 46 years old. He reportedly was in the hospital nine days, following a heart attack. He has been a resident of South Lyons for the past 15 years.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys, daughter Joan Savage of Dearborn, son Douglas of South Lyons, brother Guerney of Durand, formerly in the grocery business in Williamston, and Irwin of South Lyons, and his mother Mrs. Bertha Montgomery of Lansing.
Services will be held in the Methodist Church in South Lyons Friday afternoon and burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Williamston at about 2:30 Friday. Arrangements are being conducted by the Phillips Funeral Home in South Lyons.

History of Summit Cemetery
Incorporated in 1860 in Williamston in Ingham Co., Michigan, Summit cemetery is situated on rolling ground with soil composed mainly of sand and gravel, which is admirably adapted for burial purposes. Principally used by the inhabitants of Williamston Village, numerous Kinne’s are buried here, including the Rev. Joshua Kinne (father of A.B. Kinne) and his second wife, Diantha. Alonzo H. Kinne has two headstones, the second a military monument (Co. F., 11th Michigan Infantry).
