1.32 Larry’s Diary, Apr – May 1947

1947 • Larry’s diary (age 13)
Apr 1  Dad made me walk up and down the stairs 100 times as punishment for running too fast down the stairs
Apr 7  Gave my sisters most of my old comic books
Apr 13  Won game of Monopoly with Carleen
Apr 16  Bought Levis and shirt
Apr 18  Walked Barbra Miles to her home after school
Apr 21  Donald Moore put a bee down my back and it stung me on my seat
Apr 22  Loaned a book to Carleen. Vacuumed room
Apr 29  Carleen fell while riding her bike with me. I had to bring both bikes home
Apr 30  Carleen broke her arm from bike fall. It was her second broken arm
May 1  Scout meeting, raked leaves in our yard, walked to Barbara’s house with her, made final payment on bike
May 8  I went to carnival. I rode the ferris wheel 4 times and treated Carleen 3 times
May 11  Worked for Dad, went to movie Song of the South
May 16  Passed history and constitution test at 89% and 93%.
May 18  Carleen at hospital, may have appendicitis
May 19  Took my radio to hospital for Carleen
May 25  Whole family went to Yosemite and saw the famous points of interest Pat Conway and another sailor went with us. I climbed Bridal Falls.
May 26  Received 2 magnetic trick dogs from Aunt Elizabeth
May 27  Played cards & bingo at scout meeting, bought new clothes for graduation
